3-Bean Salad Ingredients:
1-can light red kidney beans (drained)
1-can green beans (drained)
1-can wax beans (drained)
**Add all ingredients together in bowl.
Combine and heat:
1½ cups sugar
1-cup cider vinegar
1-tablespoon vegetable oil
Pour over beans, let set 8 hours in refrigerator.
Here’s a quick mustard sauce for your holiday ham.
1-tablespoon flour (self-rising is ok)
**Heat butter and flour until melted, remove and add milk. Heat to boil and boil about one minute. Add mustard.
¾-cup veg. Oil
4-cups chopped apples
3-cups sifted cake flour (can use self-rising flour)
1-teaspoon baking powder
1-teaspoon baking soda
*If you use self-rising flour you won’t need baking powder, baking soda or salt.
**Combine all ingredients in large bowl; stir good (too thick for mixer). Pour into 10” tube pan and bake about 60-70 minutes @ 350 degrees.
Carmel Icing for Fresh Apple Cake
This recipe can make chocolate or peanut butter fudge.
2/3-cup evaporated milk
1-pkg. (12oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces (or peanut butter pieces). You can also use 1 jar peanut butter instead of the peanut butter pieces.
2-cups marshmallow cream
**Combine sugar, milk and margarine in large heavy saucepan. Heat to boiling and continue to stir and boil for about 5 minutes over medium heat or until softball stage. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients, stir vigorously until well blended. Pour into greased 13” x 9” pan. Cool – cut into squares. Makes about 3 lbs.
1-pkg. Pistachio pudding
1-(1 lb.) can crushed pineapple (drained)
1-cup miniature marshmallows
1-9oz. Cool whip
**Mix all together and chill. Makes a big bowl. Double the recipe if needed to make extra.
